The Benefits of Having an Online Stock Portfolio
I love having a nice, simple overview for my stock investments!
In this case, I found a very quick and visual way to analyze a stock portfolio or a real estate portfolio! Plus, with nice graphs about the investment portfolio.

How to create a summary of your portfolio online?
The steps to create your portfolio?
First, you need to create an account with moning.co. Actually, registration is pretty quick and pretty simple. And free too 😊

Then you go to wallet and log in to your account.
You will see this page displayed.

Now you click on create my first wallet

Without delay, you add the logo, name, account type and main currency of your wallet. Don't forget to leave the real one at the end. After, press save.
🔺For this example, I wrote stock portfolio example, USD, other, other. But obviously, you write down what you want.
Next, you need to select an asset, whether it's stock, crypto, real estate, cash or other. Like in this screenshot.

In this example, I put stock market asset (stock market). This is the case if you invest in a stock or an ETF for example.
On the other hand, you can also do this exercise with other assets.

▶️ In case you add a stock market portfolio, It's time to add every stock or ETF you own 😉
For this example I will put VT from Vanguard.

Then you select the number of shares you already own.
For this example, I will put 100.
Note that you can add the average price of your purchases. Normally, it is displayed in your stock account.
⚠️ This step is not mandatory. However, this step will be useful if you want to understand in the future whether your action is adding value or devaluing.
For this example, I will write that the average price is $95 per ETF share.
Once completed, click save.

Your portfolio summary
Now we will see a nice summary of our portfolio with nice graphs (example!).

👉 Personally, I find this overview incredible!
The wallet is super visual and super clear 👍❤
➡️ Everything is very well summarized! The main stocks, the countries invested with the percentages, the dividends distributed per year, the total amount of the portfolio, the percentage of money lost or gained, etc.
In reality, you just have to be curious and analyze your wallet 😊
🔺To continue this example, I will add 3 stocks/ETF's to my portfolio.
- ETF CHSPI, 10 shares
- Coca-Cola stock, 15 shares
- Nestlé action, 5 shares
To do this, I have to click on “add a new asset” each time.
Here is the result!

👉 We see that all the important information is written down..
For example, current price, performance, stock price over the past 1 year, average dividend yield, etc.
👉 Also, it should be noted that there is also a crown for actions that Moning.co considers important 👍
Then we can analyze our portfolio by stock for example.
➡️ What's nice about this chart is that it is:
- Green if your stock makes money
- Blank if your investment is zero
- Red if you lose money with your action
If you invest in more than one ETF. This is super handy to understand which investment is the most profitable.
Note that you can also analyze other options, such as the total percentage of countries invested or currencies for example. Just click on the tab of your choice 😀
Conclusion
➡️ To conclude, I love Moning.co's graphs. It's clear, visual and customizable. It's super interesting to analyze 👍
Plus, if you only use one wallet, it's free!
You can see a lot of detail with very simple graphics. It's very informative 😃
👉 Plus, what's great about moning.co is that once you've created your wallet, you only need to set the number of purchases of each stock/ETF when you make a new purchase or sale.
In fact, your wallet is updated automatically after that!
Note that if you invest once a month like me. You just have to set the number of shares you own each month. It takes 30 seconds per month once the wallet is created ⏲

How does this blog live?
Overall, this blog lives from sharing a frugal and/or minimalist lifestyle.
For the sake of transparency towards readers, all the products recommended are intended to make life cheaper and simpler.
Essentially, my only income from this blog comes from the training courses I conduct, promo codes for products I use, and donations readers make in exchange for neutral information.
About me
Faced with not very effective financial education, as was my case before. I actually decided to create this blog following a change in my life since my early adult life.
Compared to before, I was a person who consumed a lot until the day I understood that my consumption was making me sadder and poorer. From now on, I prioritize the minimum of my needs to be happy and achieve financial freedom.
Without realizing it, I also began to prioritize savings and investments to depend on a boss for as short a time as possible and to accelerate my personal projects.
For a few years now I have been feeling happy and I am getting richer in a way that I would never have imagined given that I have an average salary in Switzerland 😊
This is why I decided to create this blog. To share, learn and teach with other people who are looking for freedom, simplicity and long-term wealth 😉
Are you rather minimalist or frugal Jonny?
I am both a minimalist and a frugalist. However, there are situations where I lean more towards an art of living.
To conclude, I think the most important thing is to feel comfortable in your life and I have found a balance between these lifestyles without reaching the extremes.
