The best advice in the world to save

In order to save money, there is a secret that salespeople don't tell! 🤫

Actually, by the end of this article, you will understand what this secret is.

In fact, we see lots of ads everywhere that write messages like:

“With this you save 40% compared to a similar product. By buying this you save in the long run. By buying X you save 50% on Y”

It often feels like you're getting a good deal. But in reality, not really!

In my opinion, as a frugalist, there is only one way to truly save. Therefore, I am going to reveal the “secret”

🔺 My advice to save a lot is… drum roll… DO NOT BUY !

In reality, there is only one way to be truly ecological and economical. It is … do not consume.

➡️ This is an important step for us frugalists to understand. To save, you have to buy only ESSENTIAL.
Okay, your speech is nice, but you never know if you need a product in the long term..

Yes and no!

I have a quick and easy method for understanding if I need a product. This tactic works almost every time.

The Tactics of the 15 days
road sign with speed limit number in town - The best money saving tip in the world

I have a post-it note on my cell phone pad! Whenever there is something I consider interesting to buy. I write it down.

Without entering into a political and social debate. Everything is done so that we are compulsive buyers! But we, minimalists and frugalists, must do the opposite of a compulsive buyer!

👉 In reality, a compulsive buyer buy and then think if the item he has just purchased is interesting to him.

Note that this tactic allows you to buy less crap on a daily basis 🧐

Purchase pricedidn't buy
A cat toy for 15 CHF with 40% discount (which will use 3 days)15 CHF0 CHF
Spatula holder for 5 CHF (which will never be used)5 CHF0 CHF
Beauty gadget without use15 CHF0 CHF
Total35 CHF0 CHF

With this table, we conclude that it is easy to buy unnecessary items every day. In addition, note that these small purchases add up and can be very expensive in the long run.

👉 This is not a movement that I claim, but with this tip. I was surprised to learn that I was part of the zero waste movement without wanting to be.

In reality, this advice is applied in one of the “R” (Reduce) of the zero waste movement.

If you don't know this movement, it's a lifestyle that promotes as little waste as possible! In the "R"s of the 0 waste philosophy. Reducing means consuming less and throwing away less.

Conclusion

👉 Note that not consuming is not a question of becoming stingy. On the contrary, is determined to consume only the essentials😀.

About me

Compared to before, I was a person who consumed a lot until the day I realized that my consumption made me sadder and poorer 😑

Now I prefer the minimum of my needs to be happy and achieve my financial freedom.

Without realizingI started to focus on saving and investing to depend on a boss for as little time as possible and to speed up my personal projects.

For several years I have felt happy and I have become richer in a way that I would never have imagined given that I have an average salary in Switzerland.

It is for this purpose that I decided to create this blog. In order to share and learn with other people who seek freedom and simplicity 😉

Are you rather minimalist or frugal Jonny?

I am as minimalist as I am frugalist. However, there are situations where I lean more towards an art of life.

To conclude, I think the most important thing is to feel comfortable in your lifestyle 😊
