Consume and throw away afterwards
Our consumption is often questionable.
Unnecessary purchases, clutter of objects, uncontrolled consumerism, time wasted on what is not essential... In reality, this lifestyle quickly becomes a vicious circle..

➡ This issue deserves some thought in order to understand how to get out of this consumer trap. That is to say, constantly consuming and throwing away.
⚠ In my opinion, the first step to get out of this vicious circle is to carry out minimalist storage.
Which will subsequently lead to a desire to surround oneself only with what one considers to be essential😉
The secrets of successful minimalist storage ☺
To get started, here is a graphic that summarizes the steps to follow. I will delve deeper into each step.

Take the time to do each step 🧐
Step 1 – Eliminate
➡ In my opinion, eliminating is the most important step in minimalism.
I wrote an article on this subject ”Why eliminating is so important”.
Broadly speaking, the main reasons are:
- Allow you to concentrate on the essentials
- Bring calm and lightness
- Allows you to save money
- Less time wasted on secondary tasks
- Save space
In my opinion, I think that The first place to achieve minimalist storage is in the closet.
Therefore, I wrote an article on this subject ”How to create minimalist storage in your wardrobe”.
2nd step – What is essential for you?
In reality, if you have applied and understood the importance of the first step (eliminating and making a minimalist arrangement in your closet).
➡ In fact, you have figured out how to start tidying up in any area. 👍
Whether for storage in your car, your filing cabinets, your kitchen utensils, etc. The process is the same as with your wardrobe.
▶ Keep only the essentials 😎.

3rd step – Favor practicality rather than visuality
How many objects have we consumed because we prioritized the bling-bling or visual aspect over the practical aspect?

I assure you right away. Many people consume only for the eyes of others. With the aim of integrating into a certain social environment.
There is a quote from the movie Fight Club that sums up our Western consumption.
”We buy things we don't need with money we don't have... To impress people we don't like”1
Indeed, we can easily fall into the trap of consuming for the eyes of others.
But don't forget it ❗
➡ An object purchased must be simple, practical and regularly usable to meet our purchasing criteria ❗❕
If any of these aspects are not taken into account. Probably, it means that the purchase is insignificant.
Step 4 – Never add
➡ Replace but never add !
👉 If you add, you will have to constantly tidy up 😑.
Over time, this will tire you out and you will have a mess to tidy up again.
Actually, once you know what objects make you happy.
👉 The secret is to replace them if necessary, but never (and I insist never) to add new objects 😁
In fact, each object added is a step backwards towards minimalist storage!
How do you know which items are essential?
👉 The simplest way is to put aside for a few weeks, every object that you own ❗❕
Therefore, lock all the objects in a box or in a cellar. And you will only look for the objects that you need!

➡ All the items you could survive without using for weeks, means you can be happy without 😉
Actually, it's a basic exercise. But in my opinion, it's the most effective and simplest.
Step 5 – Analyze the errors
No one becomes a minimalist without regularly questioning their consumption. 🔍
In reality, it’s very easy to make consumption mistakes. Even for an experienced minimalist!
For example, I used to buy items “from chaos”
But I understood that the 99% of the time these objects end up in the trash after a few months.
It's a shame ☹. It's a step backwards towards minimalist storage.
Conclusion
To conclude, in my opinion, here are the 5 key steps to minimalist storage.

I carry out the following steps:
- Eliminating the surplus
- Realizing what is essential for me
- Practicality rather than visual
- Replace but never add
- Understand the mistakes we make
If you apply these 5 steps. You will understand many aspects with your experiences. 😉
👉 In reality, You learn by trying and making mistakes!
Minimalism is not a mathematical exercise that has a specific end number for everyone.
It’s an art of life that we learn to live in our daily lives. 😊
It's not a competition to see who has the fewest items..
To conclude, creating minimalist storage is staff. Each person chooses their values and their method.

About me
I decided to create this blog to develop and help readers who are looking for a simpler and more economical life.
Compared to before, I was a person who consumed a lot until the day I realized that my consumption made me sadder and poorer 😑
Now I prefer the minimum of my needs to be happy and achieve my financial freedom.
Without realizingI started to focus on saving and investing to depend on a boss for as little time as possible and to speed up my personal projects.
For several years I have felt happy and I have become richer in a way that I would never have imagined given that I have an average salary in Switzerland.
It is for this purpose that I decided to create this blog. In order to share and learn with other people who seek freedom and simplicity 😉
Are you rather minimalist or frugal Jonny?
I am as minimalist as I am frugalist. However, there are situations where I lean more towards an art of life.
