This article concerns the overall services of the Swiss Yuh stock market account. Is this Yuh an interesting stock account.
Recommended products
⚠ My goal with this article is not to make propaganda for Yuh. In other words, the purpose of this article is to summarize the positive and negative aspects of Yuh.
Presentation of the stock market account
👉 Yuh was born from a merger of Banque Poste and the Swissquote brokerage account. These are 2 renowned banking institutions in Switzerland.
🔺 Yuh is a bank account and brokerage account for the stock market. This is an interesting idea for us who are minimalists!
Note that in this article, I will only analyze the brokerage account aspect. On the other hand, I am going to write an article concerning Yuh banking.

Registration
👉 Regarding registration, opening the account is simple and 100% digital. In reality, it takes about ten minutes and Yuh asks for few documents.
As a condition to register, you must:
- Residing in Switzerland or a neighboring country
- Be at least 18 years old
Account types scholarship holders
As I write this. Yuh has only one stock account available.
Stock market investment
Note that I only analyze stocks and ETFs. I will only take this aspect into consideration during my stock market analysis on Yuh.
👉 Indeed, Yuh allows you to, for example, invest in the stock markets. For example:
- Actions
- ETF's
- Crypto
Banking license
| Banking license in case of bankruptcy (liquidity) | 100,000 CHF |
| Banking License in Case of Bankruptcy (Stock Market Instruments) | Fully transferable to another stock account |
Note that Yuh is associated with La Banque Postale. This makes it possible to guarantee the first CHF 100,000 in cash to the customer in the event of Yuh's bankruptcy. As in a traditional bank.
In Switzerland, bank accounts are subject to FIMNA. It is a financial market authority. This aspect is important regarding the security of the account.
In case of bankruptcy of the securities with Yuh. FIMNA obliges Yuh to transfer the securities to another trading account, of the client's choice.
Available ETFs and stocks
| ETF and stock selection | Quite wide |
👉 The choice of stocks and ETFs is quite wide. But not as much as IB for example.
Yuh's Commissions

Annual Commissions

Maintenance fees & Management fees
| Stock account maintenance fees | 0 CHF |
| Inactivity Fees | 0 CHF |
👉 0 CHF per year to have a stock market account opened. It is essential that a stock market account has no fees for maintaining the account!
Account Commissions
Fees relating to bank transactions
| Money entry into the account (with the same currency) – Payment | 0 CHF |
| Withdrawing money from Yuh account to your local account (with the same currency) – Withdrawal | 0 CHF (if there is no exchange rate) |
👉 Yuh is also a bank account. In fact, it means that the money that a deposit or withdrawal of money is without fees (if there is no exchange rate).
Exchange rate
| Ability to convert currency | YES ✅ |
| Exchange rate | 0.95% |
👉 Yuh allows you to convert major currencies. For example, Euro, US Dollar or CHF.
For example, if we invest in an ETF in US dollars or in Euro for example. If the base currency is the Swiss Franc.
👉 On the other hand, there is 0.95% lost in exchange rate.
Therefore, it is a significant commission for large transactions.
To summarize, it is better to favor small amounts to invest so as not to lose too much money in exchange rates.
Purchase price of an ETF or share
👉 Note that Yuh has the same pricing for ETFs or stocks.
| ETF's or shares in CHF | 0.50% + 0.075 % federal stamp |
| ETFs or foreign currency stocks | 0.50% (transaction) + 0.15% (federal stamp) + 0.95% (exchange rate) |
Here are some examples of the approximate commission charged by Yuh (⚠️ at the exchange rate of the day I am writing this article)
| ETF SPI 1 share at 136 CHF | 1.10 CHF |
| ETF SPI 3 shares at 136 CHF | 2.35 CHF |
| ETF SPI 5 shares at 136 CHF | 3.95 CHF |
| ETF SPI 10 shares at 136 CHF | 7.90 CHF |
| ETF VT 1 share at 93 Dollars | 1.14 CHF + 0.88 = 2.02 CHF |
| ETF VT 3 shares at 93 Dollars | 1.81 CHF + 1.11 = 2.92 CHF |
| ETF VT 5 shares at 93 Dollars | 3.01 + 4.41 = 7.42 CHF |
👉 We find that the prices are correct.
On the other hand, for large amounts, I think Degiro or IB are cheaper.
Application functionality

The Yuh app
The +
- The application is easy to use.
- The application is complex against cyberattacks according to my knowledge.
- Possibility of splitting the ETF. For example, if you only have 50 CHF to invest in a 100 CHF ETF. You can buy 0.50% of the ETF.
- The commissions are well detailed.
- Good overview of stock market movements
- Nice design
THE -
- No possibility to choose between a fixed commission and a percentage

Customer service

👉 Customer service is pretty good.
In fact, I sent emails several times with my doubts. HAS On each occasion they responded to me within a few days and their responses are always detailed. If my questions are complex, Yuh calls me so I can understand.
On the other hand, if there is perhaps one point to improve, it is the waiting time for a few emails. It happened that I waited a week for questions that I had sent from the application.
Summary
▶️ To conclude, here is my summary regarding the Yuh stock account.
| Services | Commission |
|---|---|
| Inactivity fees & custody fees | Free |
| Bank card fees | Free |
| Reimbursement limit in case of bankruptcy (liquidity) | 100,000 CHF |
| Reimbursement limit in case of bankruptcy (stock market securities) | 100% transferable |
| Limit money in the bank account without commissions | No commissions |
| Cash inflow (payment) | Free |
| Cash out (withdrawal) | Free |
| Access to stock exchanges | Good choice |
| Access to the US stock exchange | Actions -> Yes ETF's -> No |
| Access to the main stocks and ETFs | Good choice |
| Exchange rate | 0.95 % |
| Foreign ETF Commissions | 0.5% + 0.15% + 0.95% = 1.60% |
| ETF's CH Commissions | 0.575% |
| Equity commissions | CH shares = 0.575% Foreign shares = 1.60% |
| Stock market maintenance costs | Free |
| Dividend fees | 0% |
👉 Overall, the Yuh stock app is pretty good when it comes to stock market investments.
Regarding stock market fees Yuh is interesting if you use to buy or sell ETF's with small amounts. On the other hand, it is expensive if you invest large amounts.
Regarding the application, I really like the design, stability and ease of use!
Customer service is good but sometimes slow in response time.
My opinion
To conclude, Yuh is probably one of the cheapest brokers in Switzerland. Especially concerning investments in stocks or ETFs in CHF.
👉 As for small monthly amounts to invest. Yuh is a good broker because the commissions are low 👍
⚠ On the other hand, Yuh is still a little expensive compared to IB or Degiro regarding large amounts.
Suggestion for improvement
In my opinion, the only point that needs improvement is the fact that the customer should choose between having a fixed commission or a percentage. For example, a commission of 2.50 CHF maximum or 0.95 %?

Overall, this blog lives on sharing a frugal and minimalist lifestyle.
For a question of transparency towards the readers. All recommended products are in order to make life cheaper, simpler and to promote the essentials.

About me
I decided to create this blog to develop and help readers who are looking for a simpler and more economical life.
Compared to before, I was a person who consumed a lot until the day I realized that my consumption made me sadder and poorer 😑
Now I prefer the minimum of my needs to be happy and achieve my financial freedom.
Without realizingI started to focus on saving and investing to depend on a boss for as little time as possible and to speed up my personal projects.
As a result, I am getting richer in a way that I never imagined since I have an average salary in Switzerland.
It is for this purpose that I decided to create this blog. In order to share and learn with other people who seek freedom and simplicity 😉
Are you rather minimalist or frugal Jonny?
I am as minimalist as I am frugalist. However, there are situations where I lean more towards an art of life.
To conclude, I think the most important thing is to feel comfortable in your lifestyle 😊
