Why eliminating is so important?

Eliminate what is not necessary

According to an Ipsos study analyzed by Europe11, each inhabitant owns on average… Hold on tight! Approximately 200 kilos of useless objects at their place. 😧

According to another French study2, 65% respondents say lack time to do what they really want to do during the day.

👉 Note that elimination will help to avoid this waste in our lives, which automatically makes life easier. 😉

🔍 Which means you will increase time with unwanted side tasks 😕

Everything you spend with what is not essential. You reduce your time and energy to devote to what is truly essential.

For example, if you have a closet full of clothes. The more non-essential clothes you have, the less you will notice the essential clothes!

In reality, it's usually when you only have the essentials that you realize what you don't need.

For example, the more you reduce, the less there is:

  • Reduced weight to carry
  • Housework to do
  • From the administrative side

👉 Indeed, all this brings you calm, good humor and lightness. 😊

For example, the first time I cleaned my room. I put on my desk all the items that I had bought and used less than 3 times in a few years. In total, I realized that the whole thing represented about 1,000 CHF in purchase price. 😐

In reality, this means that I spent 1,000 CHF on items that now have no value and gave me no satisfaction except at the time of purchase. 😑

According to Marie Kondo's book “The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up,” decluttering the interior of your home allows you to be healthier.

This does not surprise me!

  • Less electronic waves at home
  • Less dust to breathe
  • A more Zen living space

For example:

  • Dust on your computer screen will remind you that you don't clean often.
  • The pile of pens on your desk and the mess in your room will remind you that you are disorganized.
  • High screen time on your smartphone will remind you that you spend a lot of time on your phone for niceties.
  • The lamp you never use will remind you that you spent 30 CHF for nothing.

therefore, elimination helps reduce the number of negative thoughts!

Brings better understanding
Less housework to do
Less administration to do
Helps make better decisions
Brings calm and zenitude
Saves money
Helps you be healthier
Transmits fewer negative messages to the unconscious
Promotes sustainable recycling and reduces unnecessary material possessions
Trash Can That Opens Automatically – Why Disposing Is So Important?

Indeed, it is very difficult to follow the minimalist movement if we do not eliminate the excess!

Therefore, adopting a minimalist lifestyle automatically means leading a less messy life and lightening the mind 😉

  • The fear of throwing away
  • The level of overconsumption of each person
  • The ability to decide

In reality, you just have to find a minimalist balance that suits each person. And also do a lot of questioning to learn from your mistakes 😉

The more we apply minimalism in our daily lives, the faster we become minimalist.

I believe that every minimalist should follow his or her own path.

The advantage is that you can take your time to find what suits you in your backpack. By adding or removing items as you go. 😉

I wrote an article on this subject, how to make minimalist storage in your closet.

The principle is simple! You put all the items you own in a box and let 15 days pass.

In the meantime, The items you had to take out of boxes out of necessity during this time mean they are essential. On the other hand, the objects that remained in the box, you throw them away or give them to someone.

The goal is to stick with only essential items!

The difference is that instead of putting all the items in a box or in the trash at once, This method only eliminates a few items each day. However, the number of items to throw away per day depends on each person's desire.

Conclusion

It is worth noting that it is no coincidence that books such as Marie Kondo's 'The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up' or Sasaki's 'The Essentials and Nothing Else', devote a good part of their books to elimination.

👉 The more you accumulate, the more you will have frustrations with your objects which will mostly become useless and cumbersome.

Note that if you waste energy on unimportant or useless things. It takes time and energy that could be used for things really important.

About me

Compared to before, I was a person who consumed a lot until the day I realized that my consumption made me sadder and poorer 😑

Now I prefer the minimum of my needs to be happy and achieve my financial freedom.

Without realizingI started to focus on saving and investing to depend on a boss for as little time as possible and to speed up my personal projects.

For several years I have felt happy and I have become richer in a way that I would never have imagined given that I have an average salary in Switzerland.

What is the objective of this blog?

The goal is to share and learn with others who seek freedom and simplicity 😉

Are you more of a minimalist or a frugalist??

I am as minimalist as I am frugalist. However, there are situations where I lean more towards an art of life.

To conclude, I think the most important thing is to feel comfortable in your lifestyle 😊
